The Clark Memorial Clubhouse

The clubhouse was built with money left by William Andrews Clark who owned the United Verde Copper Company in Jerome, Arizona.  When he died, Mr. Clark (the town founder) left  a $100,000 grant specifically for the building of such a clubhouse, with the final cost of the building at $90,000,  It was built in Clarkdale, AZ and designed by Phoenix architects Fitzhugh & Byron in 1925.

Our venue truly is a treasure and we feel fortunate to be holding this year's May Madness at the Clark Memorial Clubhouse.  Although we have rented the entire building for this weekend, we technically only have use of the rentable spaces.  Some doors will be locked, and some areas will be partitioned off with ropes and signs.  It is important that we respect the request to keep these areas off limits.  Also, we will be sharing a large parking lot with the Town of Clarkdale; WE MUST leave designated fire lanes and reserved parking spaces free of our vehicles.  Being in the Clubhouse is like being in a museum...  please treat all parts of the building with care and respect, and be mindful to dispose of uneaten food and drinks. The weather will be beautiful; we will encourage you to consume snacks outside!  And finally, it is critical that we observe the NO ALCOHOL policy of the Town of Clarkdale.  (Fortunatley, there is a local establishment with a beautiful outside patio, just adjacent to the Clubhouse parking lot where you can enjoy cold, refreshing drinks!)
The Clark Memorial Clubhouse is located at 19 N. Ninth Street in Clarkdale, Arizona.  Follow this link to a google map.

Getting to Clarkdale

If flying from out of state, Phoenix is the best airport to use.  From Phoenix you can rent a car, try to carpool with some of the many dancers driving through Phoenix to come to Clarkdale, or take the airport shuttle to Cottonwood.
